Is building a multi-lane freeway overpass across the Guadalupe River a good idea? Many local residents and summertime visitors don’t think so. According to this morning’s Herald-Zeitung Newspaper a group is circulating an anti-loop petition and have collected approximately 1700 petitions. Signatures to the petition include locals as well as visitors to the Guadalupe from as far away as California. The concern over the proposed overpass is that it would lead to over development of River Road and increase noise, air and water pollution. New Braunfels and Comal County are both growing even in this economic downturn. Increasingly these are the types of issues we will face as residents of this popular corner of the Hill Country.
